The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries Synopsis For Season 5, Episode 11: “500 Years of Solitude”

With Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) knocking on death’s door, things are looking mighty bleak for everyone’s favorite sassy vampire. And given the fact that Season 5, Episode 11 (“500 Years of Solitude”) marks the 100th episode for The Vampire Diaries, we’re expecting some very dramatic moments.

The gang’s all back — and old, familiar faces will also be making a return — for the milestone episode, but what kind of TVD episode would it be without a good ol’ flashback? From the official synopsis for the January 23 episode (and the pretty obvious episode title), we’re headed back to 1490 to take an emotional trip down memory lane for Katherine and Nadia (Olga Fonda) — perhaps this will be when we get to see young Nadia!

With a reunion, flashbacks, and a probable death, we know we’re in for an emotional roller coaster ride — but don’t discount a miracle! From the sound of things, Nadia isn’t just going to sit around and watch her mother die. We seriously can’t wait!

Check out the official synopsis below:

“As she faces a new crisis, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) remembers the traumatic night in 1490 when she gave birth to the daughter who was immediately taken from her. Stefan (Paul Wesley) lets Elena, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) know that Katherine’s health has taken a turn for the worse, while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) Matt (Zach Roerig) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) discuss some of Katherine’s most notorious moments. Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) comes up with a frightening plan to protect her mother, and Stefan and Elena are forced to help her. Meanwhile, Caroline is mortified when she realizes she forgot to fill Elena in on the latest shocking gossip, then indulges in a little scandalous behavior of her own. Finally, Elena and Katherine share an unexpected moment of connection.”
