The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries Star Steven R. McQueen Meets Sirius Black — And It’s As Epic As It Sounds (PHOTO)

We have plenty of reasons to be envious of Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen’s life he’s handsome, charismatic, and he gets to hang out with Nina Dobrev on a daily basis but none of that can compare to Steven’s recent envy-stirring tweet. Guys, the Vampire Diaries star met acting legend and movie star Gary Oldman!

“Met my hero Gary Oldman,” Steven tweeted, alongside a pic of himself with none other than Mr. Goldman himself — aka Harry Potter’s Sirius Black, The Dark Knight’s Detective Gordon, and about a million other iconic film roles. Well played, Steve! And we love that you have such an awesome hero. Gary Oldman is one of the best actors of his generation.

This has been a busy, acting icons-heavy couple of weeks for the littlest Gilbert. In addition to his Gary Oldman encounter, Steven was also lucky enough to see Meryl Streep and Margo Martindale speak at a screening of their new film,August: Osage County. What did he have to tweet about it?”: “Saw a screening of August: Osage County with @kendrick38 Listening to Meryl Streep and Margo Martindale Speak was enlightening.”

We love how humble this young actor is. Though perhaps he is less phased by hardcore celebrity as we are, given that his grandfather, Steve McQueen, was one of the most famous American actors of all time. Still, we love Steven’s humility and desire to learn from those around him. Also, the fact that he met Sirius Black. (Have we mentioned that?)

The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
