Lea Michele’s “Cannonball” vs. Lucy Hale’s “You Sound Good to Me” — Which Is Best?

Talk about starting 2014 with a bang! This is a big week, as Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) releases her first-ever solo music video for her single “Cannonball” on Thursday, and we can’t wait to watch it! But how does “Cannonball” compare to the new single from another one of our favorite actress-musicians, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale? Decisions, decisions.

Lucy, 24, is probably best known for acting, having played Aria on the past four seasons of PLL. And let’s not forget her brief but oh-so-memorable role as Kaitlin Cooper’s roommate, Hadley, on The OC. (No other OC fans here? Okay, fine.) However, Lucy got her start as a singer, having won the vocal competition show American Juniors back in 2003.

Lucy — who is a Nashville native — signed a record deal in 2012 and finally released her first single this week with the peppy country tune, “You Sound Good to Me.” We love the upbeat message, and her vocals are quite impressive. Translation: Watch your back, T-Swift.

That said, it’s never an easy feat to be compared vocally to someone like 27-year-old Lea. But it makes sense that people might compare the two, since they’re both best known for starring on teen-oriented TV shows and both are just now breaking into the music industry.

So now it’s time to decide: Do you prefer Lea’s power anthem “Cannonball” or Lucy’s country tune “You Sound Good to Me”? Come to think of it, trying to pick between these two songs is almost as daunting as trying to escape from “A.”
