Nashville Synopsis: Season 2, Episode 12 — “Just For What I Am”

If you thought booking Kelly Clarkson for the back half of Season 2 was enough for Nashville, you’re sorely mistaken. In Season 2, Episode 12 (“Just For What I Am”), it’s going to be all about Zac Brown Band’s Zac Brown and Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus making a splash on the sophomore drama. Move over, Rayna and Juliette!

Scarlett (Clare Bowen) is finally making it big and her career will hit a high note when she sings “Free” alongside Zac Brown — though she will once again be overwhelmed by the price she has to pay for fame. Meanwhile, Gunnar (Sam Palladio) gets invited to collaborate with Jay DeMarcus, making Zoey (Chaley Rose) a jealous gal.

Over in shipper land, Rayna (Connie Britton) turns to Deacon (Charles Esten) to help her get her mojo back — and sparks between the should be lovers start flying once more. And while Rayna is reconnecting with Deacon, Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) is still feeling the backlash of her torrid affair with Charlie Wentworth.

Check out the full synopsis below:

“Scarlett's career is on fire as she sings ‘Free’ in concert with Zac Brown (guest-starring as himself), but the demands of fame are burning her out. Rayna asks Deacon to help write a much-needed hit for her new album, and it's like old times — perhaps too much. Concert venues are dropping from Juliette's tour and Jeff, her label head, is furious, and Zoey is bruised by Gunnar's inattention when he gets an invitation to co-write from Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts (guest-starring as himself).”
