Talking Dead’s Chris Hardwick on Balancing Multiple TV Shows: “I Don’t Want People to Get Sick of My Stupid Face”

Nerdist in Chief Chris Hardwick is everywhere lately. He hosts The Walking Dead’s talk show Talking Dead; voices Craig in Nickelodeon’s Sanjay and Craig; turned his The Nerdist podcast into a BBC America show; and hosts the Comedy Central late night show @midnight, which was picked up for 40 weeks of shows, with new episodes just starting on January 6. Phew!

“I don’t want people to get sick of my stupid face,” Chris joked to the New York Post. We could never get sick of him. If anything, we’d love him to have a bigger role in The Walking Dead universe, maybe doing behind-the-scenes tours or other videos for AMC’s website. We need stuff to watch between episodes!

Chris did say between his social media-centered game show @midnight and Talking Dead, which returns on February 9, it may be hard for him to keep doing his BBC America show. But he’s still doing stand-up comedy and working on his Nerdist empire.

“I’m really good at time management,” the former MTV’s Singled Out host told the Post. “It’s the one thing I really focused on how to do after completely screwing up my 20s … I like doing a bunch of different things so I never get stuck on any one thing for too long.”

He may have to keep Talking Dead on his schedule long-term, since it’s a big (and surprising, even to him) ratings success. We can’t wait to see him back in action as our post-episode spirit guide for the second half of Season 4.

The Walking Dead Season 4 returns with Episode 9 on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. Talking Dead follows each episode at 10 p.m.
