Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth’s ABC Family Comedy “Mystery Girls” Greenlit
It’s likely been a rough couple of weeks for Tori Spelling, whose personal life has been probed by the media ever since a 28-year-old woman came forward and claimed that hubby Dean McDermott had carried on an affair with her. But things are turning around for the actress, whose sitcom with Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Jennie Garth was just greenlit by ABC Family!
TVLine reports that the comedy, entitled Mystery Girls, will revolve around Hollywood starlet turned soccer mom Charlie Contour (Jennie), who reunites with her former mystery TV show co-star, Holly Hamilton (Tori), to solve a real-life mystery. Everything kicks off when their show’s biggest fan witnesses a crime, and will only speak to the stars. Former co-stars coming back together... Talk about art imitating life!
In addition to their on-camera duties, Jennie and Tori are also serving as executive producers of the show, alongside Single Ladies’ Maggie Malina. The pilot was written by Men at Work’s Shepard Boucher. Oh, and Tori also helped to create the story on which the show is based! Sounds like she’s keeping busy, which is probably for the best.
As fans of Donna and Kelly — excuse us, Jennie and Tori — we can’t wait to see these blondes back in action!
