Juan Pablo Galavis as The Bachelor: Chris Harrison Was “Hesitant”
Looking at Juan Pablo Galavis, you think, “This guy’s got Bachelor written all over him.” He’s tall, dark, and handsome, just happens to be a former professional athlete, and has an adorable accent to boot. What more could ABC want in a leading man?
If you ask Bachelor host Chris Harrison, however, picking JPG wasn’t as easy as “uno, dos, beso.” Our guide through the many mysteries of love as seen on TV dished about his concerns in a recent TV Guideinterview.
“I was hesitant in that culturally it’s a very different show with him,” Chrissy Chris explains. “He's also very family-oriented and his daughter is very important to him so I was worried he wouldn’t give in to the fantasy of The Bachelor.”
By “fantasy” Chris isn’t necessarily referring to the suite variety. “You really have to let go and give in to the process,” the veteran rose-sniffer explains. Even though the show’s finished filming and JPG supposedly found his matching acronym, Chris still isn’t sure “if he fully did” succumb to Bachelor-hood.
“He had a hard time embracing it,” Chris says, partially because Juan Pablo “didn’t know about the show, he didn’t watch.”
Guess his brief tour of duty on Desiree Hartsock’s season didn’t make much of an impression either. Juan Pablo was kicked off only halfway through, a decision we still can’t wrap our soccer-loving minds around.
