Jennifer Lawrence Wins Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress — See Her Shocking Speech!
Is it any surprise that Jennifer Lawrence made an unpredictable acceptance speech when winning her Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for American Hustle? We think not.
J-Law won her second straight Golden Globe award, following last year's Best Actress win for Silver Linings Playbook. She had been nominated for a Golden Globe for 2011's Winter's Bone.
Jennifer — who plays the nutty Jersey wife to Christian Bale's con artist character in Hustle— was up against steep competition in the category this year, including August: Osage County's Julia Roberts.
Jennifer was sitting with on-again boyfriend Nicholas Hoult during the ceremony and embraced him before walking to the stage to accept her award. Luckily, she didn't fall down this time, as she did at last year's Oscars.
As you may have guessed, Jennifer gave a very surprising speech. "I don't know why it's so terrifying — it's obviously a good thing!" she joked in the speech about winning. "Don’t ever do this again — it's so scary," she said to herself.
"I actually did watch all of the movies this year — not all of them, y'know what I mean?" Jennifer said about her competitors' films.
Congrats, J-Law! Once again, she proves exactly why we wish she were our best friend.
