Never mind collecting rose after rose on The Bachelor — Dancing With the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff had a fellow TV star ready to give her a ring on the first night they met!
Karina, who recently celebrated her birthday, has been enjoying the awards circuit — sitting next to fellow pro Cheryl Burke at the People's Choice Awards and hanging out with Trophy Wife star Malin Akerman at a Golden Globes party.
While at a Golden Globes event on January 11, Karina also reportedly caught the eye of Orange Is the New Black star Pablo Schreiber. The 35-year-old currently plays George "'Pornstache" Mendez on the Netflix series, but you may also know him from The Wire, Weeds, or Law & Order: SVU.
According to People, Pablo approached Karina with this pick-up line: "Hi, I'm Pablo ... Juan Pablo, that is. The new Bachelor." Not quite! Juan Pablo Galavis looks a little different and probably already has a special lady friend after taping Bachelor Season 18.
People's source said Karina laughed off the joke "but seemed charmed." The two went to Pandora's lounge, where celebs were given rings, and "Pablo joked about getting Karina a ring right then and there."
So are these two on their way to being more than flirt-mates, or did they just enjoy their time at the event and part company? We'll have to see if they show up in the same place at the same time at a later date to know if this was anything other than a cheeky interaction. Pablo is only very recently single; People says his wife of six years filed for divorce just before Christmas. They have two kids together. (Fun fact: He's also the half brother of actor Liev Schreiber.)
Of course, Karina has her own romantic history. She dated her DWTS Season 3 partner Mario Lopez, then got engaged to fellow pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She was most recently engaged to baseball player Brad Penny, but they ended their engagement in December 2011.
