Watch Emmanuel Zidor Sing “I Believe in You and Me” in American Idol 2014, San Francisco Auditions (VIDEO)
Despite the lowest ratings ever in American Idol history, our favorite competition show is back and better than ever, having blown us away with its premiere on January 15. The combination of amazing contestant talent and chemistry between the judges made it the best episode we’ve seen in awhile... and we’re only getting started!
Tonight promises to be another great night on the show, as the auditions continue in Austin and move on to San Francisco. Will Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. meet the country’s next big superstar in one of these fair cities? Only time will tell!
It’s in San Francisco where the judges meet Emmanuel Zidor, a 24-year-old airport attendant from Miami. (Couldn’t he have found a closer audition location? Just a thought...) He’s clearly proves himself to be a really bold dude, as she enters the room by crawling on his hands and knees while singing Beyonce. The judges already seem impressed, but still ask him to sing one more song.
After Emmanuel delivers a heartfelt rendition of “I Believe in You and Me,” it’s pretty obvious that he’s not going to hold it together. He jokes about how he wasn’t supposed to cry on camera and flips his non-existent hair. We love him already and the judges do too.
Even though he’s trying so hard to stop it, tears stream down Emmanuel’s face. “I believe in myself. I’ve been told by so many people that I can’t do this.”
Ever the knight in shining armor, Harry Connick Jr. comes to the rescue. “You have three music teachers up here and what do you think these music teachers are going to tell you? You’re going to Hollywood!!
What do you think of Emmanuel’s performance? Will he make it to the Top 31? Read our spoilers here!
