Kris Jenner’s TV Show Officially Canceled by Network
Put a fork in Kris Jenner’s career as a talk show host, because she is done!
The Kardashian momager’s talk show, Kris, has officially been cut from the schedule at FOX, where the show had a six-week run over the summer.
While the show may be over for now, a spokesperson for FOX had some encouraging news regarding the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star’s future with the network.
“‘Kris’ will not be on the schedule for the 2014 syndication season,” Stephen Brown, EVP of Programming and Development at FOX, told Deadline. “However, the possibility for the talk show, or an additional project for Kris Jenner, for the 2015 season is being discussed and highly considered.”
While the Kardashians have long been a draw for viewers of the E! Network, Kris couldn’t muster up the same enthusiasm for daytime viewers. Despite high-profile guests like soon-to-be son-in-law Kanye West, Diddy, Ciara, and members of her famous family, rumors were already spreading about the show’s cancellation shortly after the show finished its short run. Even Kris’s big power play — having Kanye reveal the first photos of daughter North West to the world on her stage — didn’t garner enough interest to be worth the investment.
Although Keeping Up with the Kardashians is still under contract with E! through 2015, with dipping viewership and the dissolution of multiple relationships in the family, it seems as though it may not be long before the family brand goes the way of the dinosaurs.
What do you think of the network’s decision to cancel Kris?
