Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans is one of the most criticized reality stars out there (other than our BFF Farrah Abraham), and she opened herself up to even more judgement by allowing MTV to film her abortion. Jenelle chose to terminate the pregnancy she had with her estranged husband Courtland Rogers by taking the abortion pill, but she wants fans to know that she doesn't believe in using abortion as a method of birth control.
"It's the first abortion I've ever had," Jenelle told OKMagazine.com. "I don't use it as a method of birth control like everyone thought I did. I just think that it's really important that they see the progress I make and not just dwell on the abortion the whole season."
It's clear that Jenelle's made lots of progress based off Teen Mom 2's season premiere alone. Not only is she free from heroin, she's free from both Kieffer Delp and Courtland Rogers, plus she's clean, sober, and spending more time than ever with her son, Jace.
"The whole abortion thing, I mean, it wasn't really hard for me to film, but it's gonna be hard for me to watch, and I just know there's going to be so much backlash from it, so I'm just trying to prepare myself for it," Jenelle explains.
So, why wasn't this gal on birth control? She opened up during Teen Mom 2's Season 5 premiere and explained that birth control was unaffordable because she was spending all her money on heroin. Thank goodness Jenelle got the help she needed — oh, and by the way, she's currently pregnant!
