Why she might be “A”: Yes, the “Aria is ‘A’” conspiracy theories have persisted for quite some time among fans, and we’d like to believe there’s no truth to the rumors. But Ali did say that she doesn’t trust Aria or Spencer this week. Plus, it also seems possible that Aria planted those knives in Jake’s punching bag, given that she was asking Jake so much about the bag.
Why she might not be: Would Aria really try to stab Jake? And would Aria be able to be Big “A” without her friends suspecting anything? Still, if Aria isn’t “A,” then she’s way too trusting and forgiving of Ezra when he admits to lying about hanging out with “Curtis.”
2. Alison DiLaurentis
Why she might be “A”: The fact that Ali’s mom is on the Radley board suggests that Ali or her twin may have had something to do with Toby’s mom’s death. And Ali saying she only trusts Emily during their meeting feels like yet another way of Ali playing head games with the Liars. It sorta seemed deliberate that Ali ducked out of her chat with Emily so quickly.
Why she might not be “A”: Ali indeed seems to be paranoid about “A” watching her every move, which suggests that she’s not in control. And we’re still not convinced that the show will even give Ali a twin. But why is Ali suddenly besties with the always-suspicious Shana?
Why he might be “A”: Ezra keeps seeming more and more guilty. Like, he really expects us to believe he was freaking out over not getting to spend a little free time with Malcolm? C’mon, dude. Plus, it seems highly likely that Ezra slipped those knives into Jake’s punching bag. And we still have a feeling that “EF + AD” on Kissing Rock last week stands for “Ezra Fitz.”
Why he might not be “A”: Would the show really reveal Big A’s identity this far ahead of the series finale? We highly doubt it. Plus, it would be pretty darn tragic for Aria to have been manipulated into hooking up with an evil maniac for all these years. Okay, so he would be a handsome evil maniac, but an evil maniac nonetheless.
