Great news, guys! Turns out more of our favorite R&B gals picked up Grammy nominations when we weren't looking: The cast of the hit TV One reality show, R&B Divas Atlanta, received a grammy nomination for their collaborative album R&B Divas in the Best R&B Album category.
The album, which is led by R&B Divas show producer R&B singer Faith Evans, features the likes of fellow soulful singers (and co-stars) Nicci Gilbert, Monifah, Syleena Johnson, and Keke Wyatt, as well as R&B Divas LA star and singer Kelly Price and recording star Fantasia Barrino.
The charity album was created to benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy School of Creative and Performing Arts in Whitney Houston’s former East Orange, New Jersey community.
In the category, the album meets competition from Alicia Key’s Girl on Fire, John Legend’s Love in the Future, Chrisette Michele’s Better, and TGT’s Three Kings.
If the albums wins, this would be Faith’s second Grammy win (as well as Fantasia’s), and a first for the other collaborators. Despite the bickering back and forth, these ladies are definitely talented and totally deserve it.
Good luck, ladies!
