It’s been a little over six months since Glee star Cory Monteith (Finn) passed away from an accidental drug and alcohol overdose in Vancouver, and since his shocking death his Glee co-workers have struggled to come to terms with his tragic passing. Lea Michele (Rachel) was Cory’s love interest on and off-screen and there’s no doubt that the past several months have been especially hard for her.
However, Lea has made a point of living her life to the fullest since Cory’s death, and she headed back to the Glee set just two weeks after. The 26-year-old has also taken great care of herself, often visiting the spa and going on hikes with pals — including best friend, Looking star Jonathan Groff.
Jonathan and Lea are on the cover of Teen Vogue’s March 2014 issue, and Jonathan had the pleasure of interviewing his BFF for the story. The pair chatted about Glee, Lea’s album, Louder, and of course, Cory. “My relationship with Cory made me feel like I could reach for the stars and more,” Lea revealed, also pointing out that the “insane love” she had for the Canadian actor has given her strength since his death.
And while Lea knows the bond she had with Cory will be incredibly difficult to replicate, she’s slowly pondering the idea of dating again — though she’s not ready for that big step just yet. “I'm focusing on my job and taking care of myself," she said when asked being open to love in the future. "Maybe in a little while I'll be like, 'What do I want?' But I'm not quite there yet.”
It’s certainly understandable that Lea’s not ready to date just yet, but we’re happy that she’s open to finding love again in the future — she most certainly deserves it!
