Miley Cyrus seems to be turning over a new leaf in the new year. Earlier today (February 23), the 21-year-old Bangerz singer tweeted "2 months, no cigs. #proudofmyself," implying that she hasn't smoked a cigarette since early December.
Miley was spotted smoking as early as November 2010, when she was only 17 — witnesses saying she was "chain smoking up a storm" around the time of her parents' separation.
Since then, Miley has been photographed with a cigarette in hand — as well as other dubious rolls of tobacco paper — countless times.
Even during her December interview for W magazine, which hits stands in the March 2014 issue, Miley pauses mid-conversation to "ash a cigarette."
Hopefully — for the sake of her health if nothing else — Miley will stay devoted to her addiction-kicking and join the ever-growing list of celebrity ex-smokers — like Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
But just because she's giving nicotine the boot, don't expect her to give up other drugs: "I think weed is the best drug on earth," she told Rolling Stone in September. "One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon. Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs — social drugs."
Yeah, apparently Miley is swearing off all types of filter these days.
