Can you believe that up until now, Bethenny Frankel has been sharing a home with her estranged husband, Jason Hoppy? That’s pretty close quarters to keep with someone with whom you’re in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle, if you ask us. But it seems that the talk show host, 43, has finally hit her limit, as she just rented a second NYC apartment… away from her ex.
According to an E! News insider, Bethenny picked up the new piece of real estate so that she could have more one-on-one time with her daughter Bryn, 3.
"Bethenny rented an apartment so that she and Bryn could spend quality time together," the source shares. "Bethenny doesn't want to disrupt Bryn's life in any way, so the place she rented is close to their other home. They're only spending some of the time there."
The RHoNY alum and her ex were toughing it out under the same roof was for the sake of their daughter, but the source spills that things were getting a little too awkward.
"The reason Bethenny did it is that Jason is still living at the original home. On the weekends, his parents come and sleep on the sofas. It's incredibly uncomfortable for Bethenny and it gives her and Bryn no space to have one on one time."
Just last month, Bethenny asked the judge in their divorce trial to remove Jason from the apartment permanently, but it appears that she wasn’t successful in her bid. So why is the dissolution of the three year marriage taking so long?
"Jason is still holding out on signing off on the divorce because of money," the source spills. "The money is all he cares about. He was made a very generous offer in the millions but is demanding four times as much. Basically, he wants to make sure he never has to work again."
It’s clear that Bethenny has moved on, however, as she’s taken up a relationship with NYC businessman Michael A. Cerussi (aka “Mac”). She is waiting to introduce her new man to Bryn, though.
"He hasn't met Bryn yet," the insider says. "Bethenny sees him when she doesn't have her daughter. Everything's going in a good direction."
