“What do we know about Shana?” Spencer asks Hanna and Emily in the midst of their latest Team Liar planning session. Aria is presumably still away with Ezra, and the Liars are trying to get to the bottom of the “Ezra is ‘A’” situation as soon as possible.
The Liars run through what they know about Shana: she’s missing and she used to date Paige. Emily is not cool with the turn in the conversation. Presumably, she doesn’t want to jeopardize her relationship by digging too deeply into Paige’s past relationship with Shana that went down the summer before Paily got together.
“I’m just saying, we don’t really have a lot of details about [Paige and Shana],” Hanna argues. “I mean, did Shana ever mention anything about Georgia? Something that connects with where Ali’s hiding.”
Emily notes that Hanna’s changed her tune since last episode: “I thought you didn’t want us looking for Ali?” Spencer says that was before “A” (aka Ezra) changed the rules of the game. And Hanna is over her fear. She’s back in investigation mode now.
“I’m in the same place Emily is,” says Hanna. “I mean, I’m more angry than I am scared.”
Emily realizes she has been backed into a corner with this whole Paige/Shana thing: “OK, so what do you want me to do? Interrogate my girlfriend about her summer fling?”
Hanna doesn’t sugar coat it: “Basically.” Emily tries to deflect, asking if they shouldn’t be worried about some sort of Mona-Fitz connection. “I cannot worry about anything else. My brain is full,” says Hanna. (Can we talk about how awesome she’s been in the last few episodes? We miss Caleb, but Detective Hanna is our favorite.) The Liars agree to meet up again when Aria returns, and the meeting is adjourned. Poor Emily looks like she is off to the gallows. Sigh. So hard to maintain a relationship with “A” business to attend to!
Do you think Emily should question Paige about Shana? And what exactly is the Mona/Fitz connection? Sound off in the comments below!
