Ah, young love. So sweet. So pure. So inspirational? That, at least, was the case for one teen heartthrob who took a cue from his real-life love when writing a song that went on to be a roaring success.
The year is 2006 and the muse in question in Katie Cassidy, at the time an up-and-coming actress with a famous father and only a handful of credits to her name. She’s still a year out from making her debut on Supernatural and her time on Melrose Place and Gossip Girl is still far in the future.
In fact, the now 27-year-old star was then best known for accomplishments in her love life rather than onscreen. In 2006, she was dating one of music’s hottest stars and he was so crazy in love with Katie that he wrote her a song!
