Benzino Denies Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Brawl Involved Argument With Karlie Redd

If you’re like us, then you’re still buzzing from the news that Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast members were involved in a massive brawl this past week. According to TMZ, a fight broke out at the grand opening of Sleazy & Zino, a bar co-owned by co-stars Stevie J. and Benzino, which was being filmed for Season 3 of the franchise. While most of the show’s stars are keeping a tight lip on what really went down that night, Benzino’s been doing major damage control by setting a few facts straight.

The first thing Zino would like people to know is that the mayhem that happened that night had nothing to do with his confrontation with his ex and co-star, Karlie Redd.

“Everything was sensationalized,” Benzino said in an interview on Friday. “There were no bottles thrown, no fists were thrown, no guns were pulled out.”

VH1 (whose cameras were rolling during the event) declined to make a comment, and Benzino insisted that the“isolated” incident of his argument with Karlie over his fiancé, Althea “Thi Thi” Heart, resulted in the ladies hurling drinks at each other, nothing more. Atlanta Police Sgt. Greg Lyon said there were no criminal acts reported to them from the argument.

Aside from Benzino, Karlie, who was rumored to have been knocked out during the brawl, also wanted to clear the air stating that media sites were misinformed. “The reality is we are in a time when everyone wants their shine; their few minutes of fame — and I get that, but I assure you I was not involved in any fighting nor was I knocked out” after initially proving she was unharmed via Instagram.

While Zino and Karlie’s fight didn’t spiral out of control into the massive brawl, that doesn’t negate that there was indeed a melee. As a matter of fact, Benzino said that a friend of co-star Joseline Hernandez left the event, attended by some 400 people, with a gash on her forehead. Hmm…

Do you believe Benzino’s fight with Karlie Redd was an isolated incident or the center of the melee? Sound off in the comments below!
