When Kim Kardashian and Kanye West discovered they couldn’t host their wedding at French royal estate Versailles, the couple did the next best thing: they brought Versailles to them.
Kim and Kanye, who are currently crashing with Kris Jenner while they wait for their own $11 million Bel Air mansion to be constructed, fell so deeply in love with the French palace during their visit that they’ve instructed builders to copy design elements and include them in the couple’s new home.
“Kim and Kanye just loved the Hall of Mirrors when they visited Versailles,” a source close to the pair reveals to RadarOnline.com. “They both took a lot of pictures and decided they wanted a similar look in their new house.”
While Kim and Kanye are at odds over other aesthetic details of their new luxury abode, the ultra image-conscious pair have both agreed that the main thing they’ll need to make their house feel like a home is the ability to see their own visages reflecting off of every surface.
“These two love to look at themselves in the mirror, so why not have it installed to look like it was directly from the Palace?” says a friend.
Although the couple is eager to move into their new place, Kim revealed that she’s actually grown fond of spending time at Kris’ house with her family.
“I truly didn’t think our house would take this long. But now I love living here,” Kim confessed. “It has everything I could ever need, and I love spending all this time with my mom and sisters.”
What do you think of Kim and Kanye’s desire to imitate the design of Versailles — is their taste tacky or will it turn out beautifully?
