Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis may not be on board with the idea of a gay Bachelor, but Season 1 Bachelorette Trista Sutter says bring it on! The star, who met her husband Ryan Sutter on the show ten years ago, wants to make sure as many people as possible have the chance to find love in such a public and unorthodox manner as she did. (All love/no shade, Tris.)
“I think everyone deserves love,” she tells E! News. As a “loyal fan” of the franchise, Trista says she’ll always watch, no matter who the lead is (or what their sexual orientation might be).
“No matter your race, gender, sexual preference, I think that everyone deserves love and I’d love to see anyone go for the show if they’re in it for the right reasons,” she adds. (Okay, everybody take a shot now and listen to some Soulja Boy. Bachelorette 9 reference, anyone?)
Trista also has some advice for Juan Pablo on talking about controversial topics to the media — in her quintessentially classy way.
"I think it's just about being considerate," she said. "You know, and realizing that when you're speaking out about anything that you get asked, just being considerate and realizing that you aren't just having a private conversation. What you say could be heard by thousands, millions of people.”
Definitely good advice. And maybe also remember to bring your pocket translator?
