Bachelor 2014: Did Juan Pablo Introduce Nikki Ferrell to Daughter Camila Too Soon?
Relationships tend to move a lot faster in Bachelor Nation than they do under virtually every flag in the world. Even so, we have to borrow a phrase from Sharleen Joynt and say it gave us pause when Juan Pablo Galavis opted to introduce Nikki Ferrell to his family — including his then 4-year-old daughter Camila Valentina — on their second 1-on-1 date.
First there’s the question of whether it was fair to the other girls that Nikki met the family at this stage in the game. Usually it’s not until the final two are left that the Bachelor’s relatives get into the mix. But how about about whether it was fair to Camila?
Juan Pablo has said that his young daughter has never seen him kiss a woman other than her mother and didn’t introduce Nikki as anything more than a friend. Still, there’s a potential for confusion.
In situations like these, we tend to ask ourselves “WWEMD?” — what would Emily Maynard do? The Season 8 Bachelorette didn’t introduce anyone but her final pick — Jef Holm — to her daughter. But she didn’t end up marrying him after they got engaged on the finale, so maybe that’s a bad example...
What do you guys think — was it inappropriate for Juan Pablo to introduce one of the girls to Camila, or is all fair in the love/war world that is The Bachelor?
