Lamar Odom to Sign With Spanish Basketball Team Instead of NBA — Report
Okay, so it's not exactly the Clippers or the Lakers. Still, we're thrilled for Lamar Odom, who appears to be on the verge of signing with a Spanish pro basketball team for this season.
Lamar, 34, has been hard at work at a return to professional basketball, and he is apparently planning to sign with the Spanish team Laboral Kutxa Vitoria, according to Hollywood Life. Way to go, Lamar!
The news was first revealed by a reporter for Eurobasket.com, who tweeted on February 17: "Rumors unconfirmed at this point but whispers coming from Spanish sources indicate that Lamar Odom is talking with Laboral Vitoria."
Then, an ESPN reporter added on Twitter, "It's true. Just told @RealLamarOdom has a deal in principal with aforementioned Spanish club and intends to play rest of season in Espana."
So why didn't Khloe Kardashian's ex manage to sign with an NBA team this year? "No NBA team needed him or trusted him with his past issues," says a source. "[But playing for the Spanish team] will only help his future. If he does well, he might be given another chance next year."
Indeed, we had reported recently that Lamar's chance of joining the NBA this season was pretty much dunzo. So we're wishing him the best in Europe, and perhaps he'll be back in the NBA soon!
Are you surprised that Lamar didn't sign with an NBA team this season?
