One of the most important parts of being a friend is knowing when to call your pal out on their bulls—. So while we got a little uncomfortable when, during the February 16 episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey called her bestie NeNe Leakes out on her bad behavior, we also knew it was all for a good reason.
When Kenya Moore invited NeNe up to speak a few words at her charity ball, NeNe gave one of the most icily brief speeches we’ve ever seen. Seriously, we could feel the awkwardness through our TV screens. And Cynthia’s hubby, Peter Thomas, was also not feeling NeNe’s actions — he even called her out on it outside of the event... to NeNe’s chagrin.
From there, NeNe got into it with her BFF’s man, and told Bravo cameras that Peter was giving her some “bitch assness.” Well, that didn’t go over too well with Cynthia.
“Bitch Assness? That's not what friends do. Respect works both ways. I would never call Gregg out of his name. #ever,” she tweeted during the episode. #Truth!
Cynthia also backs up her husband’s claims that NeNe was acting selfishly during the evening, which was meant to be focused on the Saving Our Daughters charity. The supermodel wrote: “I agree with @PeterThomasRHOA that this event was about charity not Kenya.”
It’s tough to walk that line between your friends and your guy, but there’s only one person you come home to at night. We’re with you on this one, Cyn.
