The legal battle between Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller and stage mom Kelly Hyland keeps escalating!
In the aftermath of a vicious fight between the two during filming for the show, both women filed suits against each other. First, Abby sued Kelly for assault, who in turn filed a $5 million countersuit against Abby. And now Kelly is accusing the high-strung dance instructor of hurling not just insults but an actual chair at her 13-year-old daughter, Paige.
In her complaint, Kelly characterizes Abby as a bully whose demands and outbursts have “damaged her children’s well-being,” According to a report by Courthouse News, which obtained the official court papers, “[Kelly] claims that Miller once threw a chair at Paige, who became so troubled that her school work suffered and she was sent to see school counselors.”
Though her lawsuit names Abby alone as the defendant, Kelly’s accusations don’t stop with the instructor. She also claims the show’s production company is in violation of child labor laws, with the court document stating “"the children on the show were being subjected to abusive and unlawful working conditions.”
Kelly and her daughters have since left Abby’s studio and the show, but we have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ll hear about their ongoing legal battle.
Who do you think will triumph in this whole fiasco: Abby or Kelly?
