Now that the trailer for Grey’s Anatomy’s Sarah Drew’s new movie, Mom’s Night Out, has been released, we are super pumped to see Sarah take on another role outside of April Kepner. This time, she’s playing Allyson, a frazzled mother who’s looking for (you guessed it) just one night out away from her kids to recharge. And, as you can expect, the whole thing goes totally awry.
And after a new clip was released this week, we get to see more of Sarah in action as Allyson! In the clip, Sarah’s in a bathroom trying to undo a makeover given to her by her youngest child. She’s obviously in a rush and everything is going wrong: She can’t find anything in her bag, and then she can’t get the automatic paper towel dispenser to work. We feel her pain on that one — why are they always such a struggle to use?
And it gets worse. Then she finds out she’s not actually in the bathroom alone — a way more put together mom-like lady steps out of a stall, washes her hands, and manages to use the paper towel machine with ease. Typical.
We love this clip, if for no other reason than seeing what Sarah can do with comedy — and we’re impressed! While we have no doubt that the high-strung April would have a minor breakdown over something as simple as a stupid paper towel machine not working, we’re not sure it would have been quite so funny to watch.
Mom’s Night Out hits theaters May 9, just in time for Mother’s Day weekend.
