Braxton Family Values star Towanda Braxton has outraged fans of baby sister Tamar Braxton (commonly known as Tamartians) due to their ongoing televised feud. In an attempt to show that she’s got nothing to be jealous of, Towanda threw shade at Tamar’s husband, Vincent Herbert, by bringing attention to his reported tax lien. While many fans saw this as a “low blow,” Towanda says she felt the need to retaliate after several Tamartians threatened her children!
When Bossip exclusively spoke with Towanda about why she chose to say what she said on Twitter during her live-tweet of Season 3, Episode 25, she revealed absolutely awful remarks that had been made to her on social media. “They said ‘I wish Towanda’s kids got raped and run over by a bus,’” she said. “See people didn’t see that stuff. They just saw what I wrote. So after that I have to say that was 100% out of character for Towanda to respond, but I wasn’t thinking about what was right and what was wrong at that moment I was just reacting and responding.”
Towanda admits that though he response was her going into “defense mode” as a parent, she definitely got in trouble — with Twitter, her sister Toni, and of course Tamar.
“After that I was in Twitter jail. Jail Jail. My publicist called me like get off Twitter, you’re done. Toni was like, “Umba! That’s not you, get off, “ she said. “[Tamar] was pissed! Rightfully so… I was in trouble because it was totally out of character for me, until I explained,’Hey these children are attacking your niece and your nephew.’ Then they understood. Like ‘Okay, we get it. We wouldn’t have done it that way but we get it.’”
As far that little tax problem Vince has, Towanda doesn’t feel too bad about it since it was already out in the open.
“A lot of people are like ‘Towanda, you just blasted the family business!’” she said. “I didn’t tell family business. That was already on the web. This was public knowledge before I said anything ladies and gentlemen. I didn’t divulge any secrets of the Braxton family. I don’t do that.”
While we totally understand that Towanda’s maternal instincts kicked it when it came to her kids, we’re not quite sure dragging Vince into the equation was fair. But, so long as the sisters are okay with this, then we should be too.
