Australia’s Next Top Model Judge Charlotte Dawson Found Dead
Australian TV star and model Charlotte Dawson has sadly been found dead today. She was 47 years old.
Charlotte — known best as a longtime judge on Australia's Next Top Model— was found dead in her apartment by a security guard in the early hours of February 22 after she failed to meet a friend for a lunch, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances in her death. Charlotte had a history of depression and was admitted to a hospital in 2012 after attempting suicide. The suicide attempt came after she had been targeted by cyber bullies, and she would later get involved in anti-cyber bullying campaigns.
Charlotte was born in New Zealand and went on to a successful modeling career. She was a judge on Australia's Next Top Model from 2007 to 2011 and competed on Celebrity Apprentice Australia in 2012.
Charlotte and Russell Crowe were friends from back in their teenage years, and Russell was in tears upon hearing of her death, according to the Daily Mail. In addition, New Zealand's prime minister issued a statement that he was "shocked and saddened" by her death.
We wish Charlotte's loved ones all the best during this difficult time.
