Vampire Diaries Sneak Peek: Season 5, Episode 14 — Caroline and Tyler Are Awkward (VIDEO)

The Vampire DiariesCaroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) haven’t had much alone time since Tyler came back from New Orleans, or learned of Klaroline’s hookup — but that’s about to change in Season 5, Episode 14 (“No Exit”). Check out this sneak peek from this Thursday’s episode.

In the minute-long video, Tyler brings coffee to Caroline in the Lockwood manor — and it’s hella awkward. As is her way, homegirl managed to break the silence with a well-timed quip: “It’s good coffee,” Caroline tells Tyler, “though I usually take mine with a little more awkward silence.” Ha.

Tyler totally laughs, and counters with a good-natured: “Nice try, but you don’t take anything with silence.” When did these two become so chummy again? Apparently, around the same time Matt (Zach Roerig) went missing — which seems to be the reason why Tyler invited Caroline over.

“I don’t know if he’s missing,” Tyler clarifies to his ex-girlfriend. “He just hasn’t been home in two days. And he’s not answering his phone.” Sounds like he’s missing to us, dude. Of course, at that moment, Matt chooses to walk in. He’s confused to see Caroline, and asks why she’s there.

“Kind of wondering the same thing,” Tyler throws back at him, totally pulling the worried parent routing (and justifiably so, in our book). “Where the hell have you been?”

Before Matt can answer, Nadia (Olga Fonda) walks up behind him, asking, “Did I give you my sunglasses?” She notices Matt has company and gives Tyler and Caroline a chilly hello before turning back to Matt: “I thought you said they wouldn’t be home?” Aaand, it’s awkward again.

What has Nadia done to Matt? And are you as surprised as we are to see Caroline and Tyler so amiable? Sound off in the comments below!
