Scandal Spoilers: Season 3, Episode 13 Synopsis — “No Sun on the Horizon”

We're down to being days away from Scandal's Season 3 midseason premiere, Season 3, Episode 11 ("Ride, Sally, Ride") — airing this Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC and to make the week even better, we've been given another glimpse into the show's future with the synopsis for Season 3, Episode 13 ("No Sun on the Horizon").

It looks like the show is going to dive right into the presidential campaign, with Fitz facing his first presidential debate in this episode. Surprise, surprise: It doesn't go smoothly. Here's what the synopsis has to say.

A well prepared Fitz gets thrown a curve ball during the first presidential debate, Olivia receives shocking news and is forced to make an extremely difficult decision, and the gladiators work with a powerful CEO accused of murder. Meanwhile, one dirty little secret could lead to deadly consequences.

We're especially excited to find out more about the "shocking news" that Olivia receives. Our first thought is that it has to do with her mom. Or maybe she finds out that Jake is the new head of B-613?
