After Robin Thicke canceled three concerts in the wake of his recently-announced separation from wife Paula Patton, we bet ticket holders to his February 27 concert in Fairfax, Virginia, were pretty nervous they wouldn't be able to see their favorite singer in action.
But not only did Robin show up, he let concertgoers into his frame of mind, dedicating his song "Lost Without U" to his estranged spouse.
"For those of you that don't know, my wife and I separated a few days ago, but I want everyone here to know that I'm trying to get my girl back," he told attendees. "She's a good woman, you know?"
"I want you to help me with this next song," he said, launching into the 2007 hit that made him a hot ticket.
Besides its now-all-too-fitting title for the song, the track has special resonance for Robin — Paula starred in the steamy music video.
The song, the second single from The Evolution of Robin Thicke, remained Robin's biggest hit until a little ditty called "Blurred Lines."
Only time will tell if the romantic dedication will sway Paula — an actress known for movies like Precious and About Last Night. The couple announced their split on February 24, stating, "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."
Good luck, Robin!
