Here are some of the reasons we think Noel might actually be Team Ali.
He’s in the Finale — And So Is Alison
Finales are generally reserved for epic reveals and nail-biting cliffhangers. There isn’t usually time for much else. Which is why we’re so intrigued by Noel’s appearance in the upcoming Season 4, Episode 24 (“‘A’ is For Answers”). As the title alludes, Alison will supposedly tell all in the season ender. Is Noel part of that confession — his role as her ally? We can’t think of another reason he would be back in the Liars’ lives in such an important episode after having been M.I.A. for some time.
He Wouldn't Be the First Spy Ali Sent
We know that Alison isn’t against sending her own spies into Rosewood to ferret out the truth about who is after her. She did it with childhood friend Shana. Who’s to say she didn’t also commandeer Noel’s help in spying on her friends and family to figure out who is out to get her. Shana is total precedent, and — with her departure from Rosewood — Noel would have to seriously step up his game moving forward.
He’s Always Been Interested in Ezra
Noel has always taken a special interest in Ezra Fitz, one that becomes more interesting given the recent reveal about his prior relationship with Alison and his plans to write a true crime novel about her disappearance. Did Noel find out about Ezra’s shady past from Ali? In Season 1, he writes “I see you” on Ezra’s car. At the time, we thought it had to do with his relationship with Aria. Now, we think it may be so much more than that. Noel’s interest in Ezra doesn’t stop there, however. In Season 3, he grills Aria about her relationship with Ezra during a rather intense game of Truth or Dare. Was he gathering information for Alison — perhaps about how much Aria knew of Ezra’s extracurricular activities?
He’s Dated Many of Alison’s Enemies
Noel has dated both Mona and Jenna, seemingly random and relatively brief relationships that could have easily been ploys to find out more about the respective teenagers for Alison. They both have to be on Ali’s shortlist for people who might want to destroy her life. Ali mercilessly teased Mona and blinded Jenna. Noel also made some moves on Aria in Season 1. Was Aria also on Alison’s list, or did he like her for himself?
He Helped Maya
Though Noel may not seem like the caring type, he may have a soft spot for damsels in distress. After all, he let Maya stay at his cabin when she was in hiding in Season 3. Did he give Alison the same deal? It’s hard to imagine Noel going so far out of his way to help Alison — especially when we know nothing about their relationship prior to her disappearance — but we know he’s done something similar before. It’s time to face the truth: Noel Kahn may be a marshmallow.
