We didn’t think the groups on The Walking Dead good get any smaller, but Season 4, Episode 13: “Alone” proved us wrong. The hour started with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) and, in a separate story, we checked back in with Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green).
Maggie, Bob, and Sasha started off surrounded by walkers, but eventually found the Terminus sign. Maggie and Bob were all for following the path, with Maggie even rationalizing that Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) could be headed that way as well, but Sasha wasn’t buying it. When Bob and Sasha woke up the following morning Maggie was gone. Sasha was cool with finding a tall building to hide out in and calling it a day, but Bob, who had spent much of his time alone, knew they needed to follow Maggie.
Sasha and Bob shared a kiss and were hot on Maggie’s heels, and by the end of the hour the trio was reunited and on their way to Terminus.
Daryl and Beth weren’t as lucky. They stumbled upon a super neat funeral home stocked with food, but when walkers invaded they split up and Beth was presumably kidnapped by some unknown hooligans who sped away in a car.
Daryl, now alone and depressed had all but given up when he was found by Rick’s tennis ball bouncing friend (Jeff Kober) who we now know is named Joe and his crew of misfits.
In next Sunday’s Episode 14: “The Grove” we take a break from these two groups and get a look at a “great episode” with Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Tyreese (Chad Coleman), Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino), Mika (Kyla Kenedy) and baby Judith.
The promo below is intense, and starts with several shots of Tyreese, Carol, and the kiddies walking along the train tracks. Over that we hear Tyreese say, “The whole world is haunted now. We are who we are and we do what we do, and there’s no getting out of that until we’re dead.” Not surprisingly, the promo is designed to at least make us think death is right around the corner, with shots of Carol sobbing and Mika screaming for her help as she is seemingly grabbed by a walker. Check it out for yourself below and tell us your thoughts!
The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
