On March 10, singer Ddendyl took The Voice stage to belt out “Stand By My” by Ben E. King. The 25-year-old New York native comes from an eclectic family, with a father who plays a plethora of musical instruments. Learning that she had serious vocal talent, she was trained at age 14 to be an operatic singer, but soon learned to love various styles. Though Ddendyl works as a lounge singer, she believed that by being on The Voice, she could pursue her career in music and take it further.

Almost instantaneously, Shakira pushed her button and won the singer for her team. She noted that the Ddendyl had a lot of “air” in her voice, and was different from anything else that she heard so far.
