What’s the best way for your favorite show to rebound after a long winter hiatus? By tuning in, of course! And that’s just what happened with Revenge when it aired its midseason premiere — Season 3, Episode 14 (“Payback”) — last night (March 9).
We were a little worried about Revenge, especially since it has been off the air since January 19. We were thinking that people might have lost interest and ratings for the midseason premiere might have been abysmal or that fans would be itching to get their first fix when the show returned.
As for Revenge (which moved to the 10 p.m. timeslot), it garnered 6.5 million viewers and a 1.9 in the demo, which is a rise of 20 and 46 percent, respectively, since it’s last episode (which aired at 9 p.m. on January 19).
On the other hand, Once Upon a Time also returned to solid ratings after an extremely long winter hiatus, having aired its last episode on December 15.
But the real star of the night was the show that took Revenge’s old timeslot: Resurrection. The new drama premiered to 13.3 million viewers and got a 3.6 rating in the demo. Wow, it totally kicked Revenge’s butt in that timeslot!
It’s pretty clear that these two shows haven’t lost their magic or their bite.
