Zac Efron at SXSW: “Seth Rogen Was Sort of My God As a Teenager” (VIDEO)
If you met your all time favorite celeb, what would you say? A lot of people would be starstruck, but not Zac Efron — he goes in for the kill.
At least, that’s what happened when he met Seth Rogen as a teenager for the first time. Now they might be working together on their new movie, Neighbors, but when Zac was just starting out, Seth had no idea who he was.
“I was so nervous,” Zac admitted while promoting the movie at SXSW in Austin, Texas, according to People. “He was sort of my God. It was at the Sunset Towers, I was 17 or 18, I idolized him at this point. I stopped him and told him, ‘Seth, I have to tell you I’m a huge fan.’”
And Seth, while flattered, didn’t know how he should take Zac’s compliment. “I thought you were too young to see my movies,” he said. “Did your mom take you?”
17-year-old Zac totally could have gotten into an R-rated movie. Get with it, Seth! And now, the two have teamed up to make an R-rated movie of their own. Neighbors, which hits theaters May 9, pits Zac and Seth’s characters, Teddy and Mac, against each other when Mac and his family (including a newborn baby) move in next door to Teddy’s frat house. Yikes!
“I’ve been blessed to have the opportunities I’ve had,” Zac said. “It couldn’t have happened better. I’m stoked.”
