Once Upon a Time

Rose McIver Lands Lead Role on iZombie — Is This the End of Tinker Bell?

All one needs to fly is faith, trust and a little pixie dust — but all Rose McIver (Tinker Bell) needs to spread her wings and leave the roost of Once Upon a Time is a horrifying new gig. News just broke that Rose has been cast on Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero’s new CW pilot, iZombie.

According to Deadline, Rose will play the lead role on the prospective supernatural crime procedural based on the DC comic. Her character, Olivia “Liv” Moore, is a med student-turned-zombie “who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity.” Sounds like a bummer, right? Right.

To make things worse, Liv inherits the memories from each brain that she consumes, giving her the biggest supernatural headache in history. But thankfully Liv isn’t alone out there, she has a few friends to lean on.

“Can't wait,” Rose tweeted today (March 12), showing her excitement after the news broke.

While we’re thrilled for Rose, we’re a bit sad that this sounds like the end of Tinker Bell on OUAT. Sure she’s been able to balance her role on the ABC show with recurring on Showtime’s Masters of Sex, but if this CW pilot gets picked up, a lead role would definitely take precedence.

Are you glad that Rose booked another role or do you wish you had more Tinker Bell? Hit the comments and let us know!

Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
