Well, we can't say we saw that coming. The promos promised that Scandal Season 3 Episode 13 ("No Sun on the Horizon") would end with an OMG moment, and they didn't lie. It looks like Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) shot either David Rosen (Josh Malina) or James Novak (Dan Bucatinsky).
The episode opened with Jake speechifying (to who? Anyone? Himself?) about how being part of B613 changes you, how it become your family, your life. That seems particularly true now that he's Command. He has to make tough calls. The most recent call he had to make? How to deal with the fact that the Vice President killed someone, and the Chief of Staff and First Lady helped cover it up. Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) tried to convince him to kill Sally, arguing that if the truth got out, America would never trust its government again.
Apparently Jake agrees with that theory, but now that it looks like Sally isn't going to confess her sins, she's safe. However, since David and James were going to go to the press with their story, Jake apparently decided he had to do something. Like kill the two women they were working with and then raise a gun at them.
The episode ended with a bang, literally. But which man did Jake shoot? Both? Neither? Is it possible he let them go?
