Glee 100th Episode: Listen to Rachel, Kurt, and Mercedes Perform “Defying Gravity”
The people have spoken! Glee fans got to choose which of the show's previous songs will be performed during the two-part 100th episode special — and one of those selected is "Defying Gravity." Now, we're getting to hear what the new rendition of the Wicked tune sounds like.
We must say, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel's (Lea Michele) Season 1 performance of "Defying Gravity" is one of our favorite Glee performances ever. So, as excited as we have been to hear a new take on it, we also know that it won't be easy for the cast to match the show's first version.
However, now that we're getting to hear the version by Kurt, Rachel, and Mercedes (Amber Riley) that will air in Season 5, Episode 12: "100," we adore it as much the first one. Granted, no one tries to hit that insanely high note that was the subject of tension for Season 1's version, but all three singers do a great job with their parts.
And given how much fun it is to hear this reboot of a Glee classic, we can't wait to be blown away by the rest of the songs in the episode.
Long story short: We think that Adele Dazeem would approve.
Which version of "Defying Gravity" do you prefer: Season 1's or the new one?
