Celebrities: They’re just like us. Well, in that they totally fangirl over their favorite celebrities to the point of tears, just like we do.
While Emma Stone was in Australia earlier this week promoting The Amazing Spider-Man 2, she stopped by radio station Australia 2Day FM… who sadly informed her that their frequent co-host, Mel B of the Spice Girls, couldn’t be there to see her that day.
And Emma, outspoken lifelong Spice Girls fan, was visibly upset… until she was presented with a special video message from Mel just for her! “Oh my god, I’m so excited!” Emma gushed, eyes watering. “I’m legitimately crying. I’m the biggest Spice Girls fan ever!”
Mel’s video for Emma was just as sweet — and the love is totally mutual. “First of all, I want to say that I absolutely adore you,” Mel said. “I love you. And I want to say thank you for being such a Spice Girl fan. But my question to you is, why did you like Baby Spice and not me more? Your punishment for that is I want you to do a rendition of one of the Spice Girls song.”
Two things: First, we agree that Mel B was totally underrated. Baby was everyone’s favorite, and Mel never received the love she deserved. Second of all, some may call Emma Stone singing a Spice Girls hit a punishment, but we call it a major gift.
And lucky for us, Emma happily obliged. We’re expecting her outstanding cover of “Wannabe” to pop up on iTunes any day now.
Emma, if it means anything to you, we'd totally cry if you sent us a video saying hi to us.
