And now, as writer-director Joe Carnahan revealed on Twitter, James is on the set of Katherine's new project. (In case that name rings a bell, Joe also wrote and directed The A-Team, The Grey, and the pilot of The Blacklist.)
In the spy-centric drama — which Joe co-wrote with The Following's Alexi Hawley — Katherine plays Charleston "Charlie" Whitney Tucker, who briefs the President (played by Alfre Woodard) on international crises. She's also the ex of President's deceased son. The show described as a mix of Scandal and The West Wing.
Funnily enough, this isn't the first time Katherine and James have shared the screen. They also co-starred in a 2002 episode of The Twilight Zone, in which Katherine played a woman who time-travels to 1880s-era Austria to kill baby Adolf Hitler, with James playing the future Nazi leader's father.
So now we're imagining their conversation on the New York City set of State of Affairs to go like this: "Oh, hey, James. Good to see you. Too bad Alex never reconnected with his pops while I was on Grey's, huh? Hey, remember that time I killed your Nazi baby?"
