Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) is a relatively new and infrequent tweeter, but she made sure to log on today, March 27, to hype tonight's Cristina-centric episode of Grey's Anatomy — Season 10, Episode 17: "Do You Know?"
Here's her impassioned Twitter speech, only slightly edited for clarity:
"Please watch Grey's Anatomy tonight. I haven't seen it yet, but Kevin [McKidd aka Owen] did such exquisite work, and Chandra [Wilson aka Bailey] was a dream director. It was such a gift to shoot — thank you, [writer] Stacy McKee … This episode felt, for me, like the end. Or, at least, the beginning of the end. It was tough and marvelous and sad to shoot."
Sandra then explains the premise and themes explored in tonight's installment: "It's a Sliding Doors episode, an imagined reality or a multiverse centering around Cristina and Owen. Remaining true to oneself doesn't guarantee happiness. But you can bet your boots that not being true to oneself may bring great pain. Hopefully you'll see what I mean. I wish happiness for both Cristina and Owen."
Kevin responded with heartbreaking kudos to his TV lover: "Aww! Thanks, S. Needless to say, your work, as ever, was perfect — I will miss it and you."
Meanwhile, Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes echoed the praise, tweeting, "Tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy is one of my favorite episodes ever. It is beautifully epic."
And Stacy had some props of her own to share: "My latest episode of the season airs tonight! Amazing work by Sandra Oh, Kevin McKidd, directed by Chandra Wilson, edited by Joe Mitacek!"
So here's the CliffsNotes version of the Twitter exchanges: Phenomenal work all around, so be there or be square when Grey's airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
