Pretty Little Liars Crazy Fan Theory: Mona Was Working With “A” From the Start
Pretty Little Liars isn't afraid to throw a crazy twist or ten our way, so we're always on the lookout for theories that are as extreme as the show itself. That's why every Friday we like to delve into the world of fan theories and find an idea that's so out there, it might just be right.
This week, we want to talk about the theory that Mona (Janel Parrish) has been part of the "A" game since day one, as laid out here.
In the Season 4 finale ("A Is for Answers"), we learned that young, geeky Mona is the one who saved Ali after she wandered off from the hospital, and is also the one who gave Ali the idea to fake dead. Oh, and we also learned that she had a crazy shrine to Ali. Clearly, she was obsessed in way that involved both hero worship and resentment.
Who better, than, for the original "A"/person trying to kill Ali to target as a helper? If Mona was working with "A" from the beginning, it would explain how she knew about "A" to take the persona over later.
It could also explain why Ali's killer apparently kept after her: Mona could have told him or her that Ali escaped her grave. Alternatively, maybe Mona kept Ali's secret for her. After all, Mona is rarely just a pawn.
What do you think of this theory — is it possible, or totally crazy? Sound off in the comments below.
