We don’t know much about the people at Terminus. They may be cannibals, they may not be, but we likely won’t find out either way until The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres sometime in October 2014. Thanks for the torturous wait, Robert Kirkman!
We may not have many definitive answers about the Termites just yet, but if we assume that they are cannibals (a group of cannibals do exist in RK’s Walking Dead comics) does that mean they will actually eat any of beloved survivors who, at the the end of the Season 4 finale, were trapped inside “A” train car?
We sincerely hope that no Team Prison members end up on a barbecue (Beth Greene is likely fine, despite intense suspicion that she may already be a meal) but if someone were to be, uh, eaten, we’d put our money on Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.). Confused? Hear us out.
In a post-Season 4 finale chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Robert and showrunner Scott Gimple talked about the possibility that Bob could be (on) toast. THR pointed out that in the comics the cannibals eat Dale (who died on the TV show back in Season 2) after he’d already been bitten by a walker. Like comic book Dale, Bob is injured a recovering from getting shot during the massacre at the prison, so he’s already weaker than the other survivors. He was also bitten by a walker on the way to Terminus, but said walker just got a mouthful of bandage and didn’t even break the skin.
However, when asked if Bob could suffer Dale’s fate, Robert gave an uncharacteristically definitive answer, at least by his standards. “Or there could be no story there,” he began. “He was injured in the shootout at the prison and had the bandage, and it seems like the bite saves him, and that could be the end of that story.”
Robert seems pretty set on this point, but do you think there’s something to this theory that Bob could go the way of the walker a la comic book Dale? Tell us what you think below!
