TV Fanaticcaught up with Phoebe at PaleyFest, and the gorgeous Aussie had this to say of her character moving forward: “She’s now in her eighth month of pregnancy. She’s gearing up to learn how to be a mother, and I think that’s really terrifying for her.” But that’s not the only thing on Hayley’s mind! She’s also part of a werewolf family with her newfound kinship with Jackson and the other members of the clan she hadn’t known she was a part of...
“She’s never had a family,” Phoebe continued, “and, finally, she’s found this family of werewolves that go back generations and she’s so excited and she really wants to lead them because they really haven’t been seeing good times over the last however many years after Marcel kicked them out of New Orleans, out of the French Quarter. So, I’m really excited to see Hayley take on a more leadership role, which is what we saw in the last episode that aired.”
Not only is Hayley strong and articulate, but she has something many of the other power players in NOLA don’t: a relationship to the Original family. Phoebe noted: “She has enough of a relationship with Klaus and Elijah to stand up to them … A lot of characters don’t feel like they can stand up to them.” One of the many reasons we love the werewolf woman!
As for when the miracle baby might be born? Phoebe said she hopes it’s by the end of the season (and we have our bets placed on the season finale): “I’m really excited to see what kind of a mother Hayley’s going to be and what kind of a father Klaus is going to be,” Phoebe said. “I want to see Klaus changing dirty diapers.” Ha! Us, too, Phoebe. Us, too.
Do you want to see Hayley’s leadership role continue and expand? What kind of mother do you think she will be? Sound off in the comments below!
The Originals airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
