The Vampire Diaries

Raffi Barsoumian and Michael Malarkey Cuddle With Puppies in Mystic Grill (PHOTO)

Vampire Diaries star with a puppy? Two hunky Vampire Diaries stars with puppies, of course! Check out this photo of Michael Malarkey (Enzo) and Raffi Barsoumian (Markos) cuddling up to puppies in the Mystic Grill, and try not to smile. Go ahead — we dare you.

In the photo, both Michael and Raffi are hugging two of the most adorable puppies ever. Of course, given that these two are on the TVD set and their characters have a less-than-ideal track record (or, in Markos’ case, reputation), we can’t help but ask these questions: Should we be worried about these puppies? Have these two pups replaced Jeremy as TVD’s go-to hostages? And why are Enzo and Markos hanging together in the first place? The more we think about this photo, the more concerned we get. Put the puppies down and back away slowly, gentlemen...

Here’s the thing: Markos is set to be the Big Bad as the season finishes out. The leader of the Travelers, he plans to use the last doppelgangers — i.e. Stefan and Elena — in some kind of ritual to break a curse against his people. Does this ritual also involve puppies? Because we have to draw the line somewhere, and that somewhere is puppies.

Or maybe we’re getting ahead of ourselves. This could be a perfectly harmless on-set photo of two actors hanging with puppies, as actors sometimes do. After all, these two seem to be nice guys in real life and we even saw Raffi snuggling up to a kitten just a week ago. Maybe the actor just has a baby animal entourage that follows him wherever he goes. As far as quirks go, that a pretty awesome one.

Are you worried about this puppies? Either way, is this not one of the cutest photos you’ve ever seen? Sound off in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
