Now that we think about it, isn’t Kandi Burruss’s story pretty much the ideal material for a Tyler Perry joint? The Real Housewives of Atlanta star has the perfect combination of forbidden love and family conflict that would bring those signature Tyler-induced tears — both happy and sad. And apparently the big man himself seconds that opinion!
In a sneak peek of Sunday’s April 13 season finale of RHoA, we watch as a number of famous faces join the Housewives to attend Kandi’s opening night of her musical, A Mother’s Love, of which she’s both producing (with her man Todd Tucker) and starring in. Hopefully she didn’t let those nerves get to her, as Tyler Perry is soon spotted in the audience!
Now, there’s a chance Tyler could have just been looking for a little local entertainment on an evening off, but we seriously doubt that. After all, the director/producer/actor/producer (the list goes on) is clearly a workaholic always on the lookout for his next hit production.
Kandi’s play definitely has some aspects that would be of interest to Tyler — beyond just the disapproving mother storyline and the moving romance. The show featured some pretty major gospel and R&B heavyweights beyond the Grammy winner herself including The O’Jays’ Eddie Levert, Shirley Murdock, D. Woods, and Q. Parker of 112.
Speaking of, where is our DVD of the show? We can’t wait to see this whole thing ourselves!
Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Season 6 finale airs April 13 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
