Vampire Diaries Star Nathaniel Buzolic Tweets Creepy Photo From the Other Side
How great was it to see Kol Mikaelson (Nathaniel Buzolic) in last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries? Very great. And, hopefully, it won’t be the last time we see this handsome, desperate Mikaelson in Season 5. We doubt it will be — given that Nate just tweeted a creepy photo from the Other Side. What does the behind-the-scenes shot tell us about upcoming episodes?!
“#Kol found a friend on the other side... Great listener…” Nate captioned an Instagram photo of himself cozying up to an extremely life-like mannequin head. Um...what is going on here? Is this actually a prop that will be used on the Other Side? And, if so, does this mean for-sure that we will soon have Kol back in our lives after his untimely (or was it long overdue?) demise in Season 4?
We really and truly think that the answer to that last question is yes. A few weeks ago, we got this amazing photo of Kol guarding TVD executive producer Julie Plec’s parking space from unwanteds. We think this means the Aussie actor was back on set to film some more scene-age for TVD. Kol’s reappearance also makes total narrative sense given that, yes, the Other Side is heading towards total destruction and, yes, Kol seems 100 percent on board with helping the TVDers figure out what the heck is going on before he is sucked up into the same demanding vortex that claimed Vicki Donovan and maybe (?) Katherine Pierce.
So, what’s with the head? Is this actually another resident of the Other Side and, if so, why does TVD need to cast a head rather than a real-life extra to fill the part? Our guess? We’re going to see something terrible happen to Kol’s new “friend.” (Sorry, buddy. You’re going to have to find someone else to talk to.) Basically: the Other Side is going to get a whole lot worse than overpopulated forests and vortex kidnappings.
What do you think the deal is with this behind-the-scenes shot? Do you think Kol will be back? Sound off in the comments below!
The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
