On April 21, Team Adam Levine soul singer Delvin Choice gave a rousing performance of “Unchained Melody” by Righteous Brothers. Adam decided to give Delvin the song because it’s a bit of a risk in the sense that it’s memorable, but not necessarily contemporary. He thought that Delvin, as a chameleon, would be able to tackle the song, which Delvin decided to dedicate to his parents’ anniversary.
Delvin took the stage with the 1965 hit song, and even made a lucky woman in the audience feel special! Coach Blake Shelton told Delvin that he did a great job singing “the crap out of the song.” Usher told Delvin that the South Carolina singer was a threat vocally and that he’s an amazing talent. He felt that the song was about conveying hurt and pain, but Delvin was able to interpret the song on a happier note.
Shakira felt that Delvine took one of the most nostalgic songs and did not disappoint. She said she was able to lose herself in the moment of the song, and just enjoyed it. Adam admitted that Delvin was a bit hesitant at the beginning when he learned he would have to sing the Righteous Brother’s classic, but he knew that Delvin would be able to take the tune and make it golden.
